Holding On to Hope
From the moment we embrace dogs into our homes, we vow to love and care for them indefinitely. Showered with affection, they blossom into joyful and trusting companions. It is heart-wrenching to know that some owners abandon these loyal beings in perilous places, indifferent to their fate.
Left bewildered and alone, these faithful pups cling to the belief that their family will return for them. This is the story of Ribbles, a devoted pup who held onto hope despite being abandoned at a railway. She risked her life, waiting for the faces she cherished to appear again.
As the days passed, Ribbles’ hope began to wane, yet she remained steadfast on the tracks. She missed her family dearly, and could not relinquish the hope of reuniting with them. Fate intervened when a compassionate woman noticed Ribbles narrowly escaping a fast-moving train.
The woman, unable to capture her, contacted Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy. She detailed the perilous situation Ribbles was in, prompting Hall to take immediate action.
The Daring Rescue
Hall wasted no time and sped to the railway. Upon arrival, she spotted Ribbles on the tracks. During Hall’s presence, a train passed five times, and each time, Ribbles darted into a small hole in the fence. Intrigued, Hall investigated further.
The hole led to a car dealership, where staff members revealed that they had been feeding and sheltering Ribbles. They allowed Hall to set a humane trap on their property. She placed food inside a crate, hoping Ribbles would enter it.
Seeing that Ribbles was hesitant to approach the crate while she was there, Hall decided to give her some time and return the next day. The following morning, she spotted something on the tracks that made her heart skip a beat.
Fearing the worst, she rushed towards it, only to find coyotes scavenging for food. Relieved, she checked the trap and was overjoyed to find Ribbles inside. The sweet pup was finally rescued.
A New Beginning
Hall took Ribbles to Camino Pet Hospital in Irvine, California. The vet discovered she had a severe ear infection and a swollen elbow and leg. It was heartbreaking to think of the pain she endured while waiting alone at the railway.
Despite the dangers she faced daily, Ribbles’ loyalty and love for her family outweighed her fears. Hall marveled at her bravery and resilience, knowing that her survival was nothing short of miraculous.
After a complete recovery, the loyal dog with angelic eyes found her forever home. Her new parents fell instantly in love with her and knew she was meant to be part of their family.
Ribbles, now named Lucy, lives a dream life in Joshua Tree. Surrounded by boundless love, she has a dog sister and enjoys hiking adventures with her family. It’s heartwarming to know that Lucy finally found her place under the sun.
