A Record-Breaking Litter
The Dubbs family was in for a surprise when their beloved Great Dane, Namine, gave birth to an astonishing 21 puppies in just 27 hours. This unexpected event left the family in awe, as they initially anticipated a litter of around 13 or 14 pups. The labor was long and arduous, but the results were truly miraculous.
Despite the excitement, the family faced an emotional setback when two of the puppies sadly passed away shortly after birth. This left Namine with 19 healthy puppies, each weighing over a pound except for two smaller ones. The family quickly rallied to ensure that each pup received the care and nourishment they needed.
Feeding such a large litter presented a logistical challenge. Tanya, the owner, made it her mission to supplement the feeding with bottles whenever necessary. This dedication ensured that every puppy had the chance to thrive despite the overwhelming numbers.
While Namine’s litter is impressive, it falls short of the world record. The current record-holder is a Neapolitan Mastiff named Tia, who delivered 24 puppies in a single litter. Nonetheless, Namine’s achievement remains a remarkable feat in the canine world.
A Remarkable Recovery
Namine’s journey to this point has not been easy. Just a year ago, she survived a near-fatal accident. After escaping from home one night with her sibling, Malificent, Namine was struck by a truck, resulting in serious injuries to her back and eye.
Tanya shared the harrowing experience on social media, expressing her fear and concern for Namine’s well-being. “My sweet Namine and Malificent escaped this evening… Namine has not. I was told that she got hit by a car,” she posted, capturing the anxiety of that night.
Fortunately, Namine received medical attention and, against the odds, made a remarkable recovery. Sixteen hours after the accident, she was patched up and on her way to healing, with no life-threatening consequences.
This resilience only adds to the awe surrounding Namine’s recent achievement. Her story is a testament to the strength and determination of both the dog and her loving family.
A Bright Future Ahead
Now that the puppies are weaned, Tanya plans to sell all the puppies to loving homes. She also intends to donate a portion of the proceeds to the Tazewell County Animal Shelter in Bluefield, Virginia, ensuring that her joy is shared with other animals in need.
Namine won’t be left alone after her puppies find new homes. She has a large and loving family, including both humans and dog siblings, who will continue to shower her with affection and care.
This Great Dane, known for her nurturing nature, loves spending time with her family. Despite her puppies moving on, Namine will always have a special place in the hearts of her loved ones, who cherish her deeply.
As a true giver, Namine not only receives love but also gives it abundantly. She is a Great nanny to children and adores taking care of her human family members, highlighting the gentle and loving nature of Great Danes.

I’m curious, is it common for Great Danes to have such large litters? Namine is truly remarkable!
