History
- The Burmese breed began in the 1830"s with a cat called Wong Mau..she was outcrossed to
Siamese and then during the world war, in 1941 Burmese were imported from Burma from the Malay peninsula. The
Burmese cat was accepted for show competition in several cat registries. Then in 1947, due to several reasons, the
CFA withdrew the Burmese certification. But in 1957, after dedicated Burmese breeder weeded out and
switched around breedings, the CFA reinstated the certification of Burmese.
Colors and Coats Types Available - In the mid 1980"s the dilute burmese were recognised and the colors now are Sable, the dark brown, Platinum, a pearly off white, blue, a warm silver, and champagne, the tan with darker points....
Grooming and Care - Burmese cats are easy to care for because of their close lying short coats, they don't shed as much as other cats.
Best
